How Your Jacket Is Made

Every White Buraq jacket is made by hand in our family's own leather workshop. Our family opened that workshop in 1998, making wrestling belts, jackets and bags, and the same workshop makes every piece we sell today. We only make high-end pieces in genuine leather, and we build them to last for decades with proper care.

Where your jacket comes from

We run White Buraq from Duluth, Georgia. Our jackets are made in our family workshop in Pakistan by leather craftsmen who cut, stitch and finish each piece by hand. We keep popular styles in stock in Georgia. Everything else, including custom sizes, is made to order and shipped straight from the workshop to your door.

How we make it, step by step

  1. Choosing the leather. We work with cowhide, lambskin, sheepskin, goatskin, horsehide, steerhide, buffalo, suede and nubuck, and choose the leather to suit each style. Every hide is different, so natural marks and grain are part of the character of each jacket.
  2. Cutting. Each panel is cut by hand, so the grain and color sit well across the whole jacket.
  3. Stitching. Our craftsmen sew the panels together and reinforce the points that take the most strain, such as pockets, zips and seams.
  4. Hardware and lining. We fit the zips (YKK), snaps, buckles and buttons, then add the lining, shearling or quilting that the style calls for.
  5. Finishing and checking. Edges, seams and hardware are finished and checked by hand before the jacket is packed.

Made to order and made to measure

Made-to-order pieces are handmade in 5–7 business days, then shipped by express courier (DHL or FedEx), which usually takes 3–5 business days. In-stock styles ship from Georgia in 1–2 business days. Shipping is free within the US, and we pay any import duties.
