What is nappa leather?
Nappa is a trade name for soft, supple grain leather, usually made from lambskin, sheepskin, goatskin or calfskin and typically chrome-tanned. The name is often traced to Napa, California, where a 19th-century tannery became known for a soft glove leather. Today there's no single standard for what counts as nappa, so the name tells you about feel more than a specific process.
How nappa leather looks and feels
It's smooth, soft and pliable, with a fine grain and a gentle sheen. It drapes well and feels comfortable from the first wear.

- Cons: less scuff resistant than heavier leathers; the name isn't standardised, so quality varies.
